Art Walks
Stretching through the business centre of Cleveland is Cleveland Art Walk which features public artworks. The Art Walk is a great way to view local culture. It explores the themes of community, the bay and nature. Stroll through the town centre (Middle and Bloomfield Streets) to view sculpture, poetry and mosaics.
Capalaba Art Walk features works that respond to Capalaba’s history as well as its current role as one of Redland’s major centres. Take a walk through the town centre via Capalaba Place, where Redland Art Gallery, Capalaba is located, via the bus station and through Capalaba Regional Park and enjoy these works first hand.
The Art Walk also provides a context for students to investigate society, environment, science, the arts and technology.
Activity sheets are available for students from Years 1 to 10 for Cleveland Art Walk. Activities encourage students to reflect on the meaning of public art for the Redlands community. The Cleveland Art Walk takes about 30 minutes.
