Queensland by Invitation
8 July - 8 August 2005
Redland Art Gallery, Capalaba
This inspiring photographic exhibition features more than 100 photos submitted by everyday Queenslanders and capturing the essence of Queensland – its people, places and lifestyle.
In October 2001, 400 Queenslanders were invited by Premier Beattie to submit a photo and text portraying what Queensland means to them for possible inclusion in the book.
From the photos submitted, 100 feature in the Queensland by Invitation publication launched by the Premier during Queensland Week in 2002.
The Queensland by Invitation exhibition showcases the entire collection of photos submitted.
The exhibition has received rave reviews from visitors to the State Library of Queensland in Brisbane, where it has been has been on display throughout June and July, 2002.
The exhibition at Redland Art Gallery Capalaba is the thirty-second and final leg of the regional tour, which has seen the photographic display travel to more than 30 towns and cities throughout the state.
