Jacinta Howard

Jacinta HowardThe very act of creating is my supreme reason for painting. The work is ephemeral; the destination is irrelevant only the journey matters. The joy and drama is in the moment of time that is now, when one creates things that do not have an existence. I feel privileged to be an artist, to be able to observe and participate with genuine wonderment of the world we live in.

The lusciousness of oil paint allows me to explore the sensuality and fecundity of life. This may relate to a mood, a movement, or the inexplicable and wonderful acts I draw from the natural world. I allow forms to evolve and develop within the paint itself, with the form directed by the feeling rather than prescribed.
