Perception and Expression
An exhibition by Beryl Home, Gillian Rich, Hilary Wakeling, Lorna Johnston and Don Bridges.
18 April - 1 June 2006
Redland Art Gallery, Capalaba
These artists are connected by a love of art that has grown into friendship. This friendship extends throughout The Coochie Art Group who meet fortnightly at the Coochiemudlo Island Community Hall where members engage with tutors who encourage creativity and individuality.
As well established members of the group, the work of each of these artists has proved popular at The Coochie Art Group Annual Exhibition, held at the Redland Art Gallery since 2003.
The work selected for this exhibition demonstrates the development of each of the artist’s techniques. It is also an exploration of what influences their work and how they perceive the world around them. They are heartfelt works, full of warmth and understanding.
Perception and Expression is dedicated to Lorna Johnston, who passed away before the exhibition was finalised.
