Persona: Different Hats

An exhibition by the Mind in Art Group

12 March - 17 April 2006
Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland, Gallery 2, 3, 4

This exhibition reflects the ideas and thoughts of the Mind in Art Group in a very personal way. They share a common determination to recover from various forms of mental illness. Their teacher, Jack Oudyn, an arts practitioner and educator has included work in the exhibition that relates to his experiences with the group.

The Mind in Art Group

The Mind in Art Group came together in 2001, as a support group that encouraged non-judgemental attitudes, social reintegration, bonding and improvement in self esteem. Areas of painting, drawing, sculpture and community arts are offered in the workshops operating at the Wellington Point Community Arts Precinct. The Mind in Art Group have had a number of successful exhibitions and participated in several community arts projects. Their work is represented in the Redlands Hospital Art Collection.

The Mind in Art Group has been supported by both Redland City Council and Brisbane City Council in previous years and Persona: Different Hats, the group’s third exhibition, is supported by Redland Art Gallery and Redlands Bayside Disability Services.
