A Question of Balance

Contemporary calligraphy and painting by Ruth Venner

For Ruth Venner, calligraphy is both an art and a lifetime’s work. Since becoming a calligrapher in 1980, Ruth has developed her own style which is steeped in tradition. The works in this exhibition are wide-ranging; from tiny traditional works on vellum with 23 carat gold leaf, to large oriental inspired brushwork often including Ruth’s poetry and seals.
