Exploring the Face

A self portrait exhibition

Exploring the Face is the culmination of workshops for children aged 5 to 14 years held over the June/July school holidays with artist Sara Rumsey. Children discovered new ways to gather information and play with techniques in mark making to produce self portraits on paper. Inspired by photographs, or from memory, the portraits are intended to be fun, experimental, and expressive, with an emphasis on embracing the individuals’ way of drawing.
