Looking Through

An exhibition by Lisa LeeĀ

25 May - 6 July 2008
Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland, Gallery 2, 3, 4

Looking Through explores visual impairment through visual art and celebrates the value of sight. For centuries art has been viewed, appreciated, criticised, admired and pondered with the help of vision. In Looking Through, Lee has extended her work beyond factual explanation to explore the subject with more ambiguity. The majority of her works depict distorted close-ups of faces, resulting in a sense of intimacy and intrigue.
