Opened on 14 February 2003, Redland Art Gallery is a vibrant destination with a mix of innovative and culturally diverse exhibitions. The gallery has been whole-heartedly embraced by both locals and visitors to the Shire and is now an established regional gallery of high regard.

In celebration of five successful years of exhibitions, public programs, ongoing community support and artistic achievement Redland Art Gallery presents over both Cleveland and Capalaba locations Postcard from the Redlands: A Redland Art Gallery 5th birthday celebration exhibition.

This exhibition reflects on the connection people have with the Redlands, be it a past or present familiarity. At Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland, sixty-seven individual artists share their messages from the Redlands through postcard sized artworks, one artist, through a large scale photographic work. Ceramic postcards depict images of island life through the eyes of children. Teenagers feature in video art and children under five years have created nature scrolls.

At Redland Art Gallery, Capalaba children have created artworks about the Redlands in response to works that feature in the gallery’s art collection.
