Tenders

Council often calls invitations for quotations and tenders for works, goods and/or services in order to obtain competitive bids.

This enables Council to:

  • provide community services and facilities
  • build and maintain infrastructure (physical, financial and information based)
  • support Council’s day to day operations.
By law we must demonstrate that the goods and services we purchase are done on a best value for money basis.

To do this we follow five principles:
1. open and effective competition
2. value for money
3. enhancement of the capabilities of local business and industry
4. environmental protection
5. ethical behaviour and fair-dealing.

In our tendering process we encourage suppliers to develop an effective, efficient and long term relationship with Council.
