Industry input required

Cleveland District State High School would like to engage with industry representatives in order to validate learning and assessment strategies in vocational programs offered at the school.

This would involve attending an internal review meeting (duration 1-2 hours) once in the calendar year. 

The school is interested in hearing from industry representatives from the following industries:

  • entertainment
  • live production, theatre and events
  • music industry
  • engineering
  • horticulture
  • information technology
  • hospitality
  • business
  • visual arts and contemporary craft
  • furnishing
  • tourism

 

 

Looking for employers willing to take on School-based apprentices and trainees

The school has 50 senior students undertaking school-based apprenticeships/ traineeships.

The school would like to engage with businesses to provide school-based apprenticeships or traineeships in the following areas:

  • carpentry
  • plumbing
  • engineering
  • electro technology
  • business
  • information technology
  • furniture making
  • horticulture
  • sport and recreation
  • hospitality
  • retail
     

Guest presenter - Information Technology

Cleveland District High School is currently seeking employers from the information technology environment willing to share their knowledge of procedures and standards in the workplace.

Topics might cover:

  • graphics presentation
  • layout
  • use of colour

 

Looking for a Business Mentor

Cleveland District State High School’s Year 10 students currently participate in the Redlands YouthBiz Business Planning competition.

It would be great for our students to have coaching from employers who are familiar with business plans.

 

Looking for relationships with North Stradbroke Island Indigenous groups and tour operators

The tourism students at Cleveland District State High School would like  input from North Stradbroke Island Indigenous groups and tour operators for a new unit on Indigenous sites and local history.

In addition the tourism students would like to learn from local tourism operators about delivering quality customer service in the Redlands.
