Redland Trade & Investment Officer - Guangzhou China
Redland City Council has a Trade and Investment Officer, within Trade Queensland’s office, in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, China.
The office will assist Redland businesses to expand into the south China marketplace, focusing primarily on exports and joint venture opportunities, education activities and investment attraction into Australia.
Julia (Jing) Zhang, provides businesses with pre market-entry information, assessment of the market potential for their products or services, distribution and logistics information, trade show participation assistance and partner matching. She works as part of the Queensland Government’s Trade Queensland Office, in Guangzhou, but focusing on Redlands Businesses.
The services offered include:
- Core Services - general assistance to Redland businesses considering trading with China.
- Export assistance – helping Redland businesses export into the Chinese market.
- Import assistance - helping Redland businesses identify and source products to import from China.
- On the ground support – providing information for Redland businesses visiting Guangzhou and assisting with arrangements.
- Trade show co-ordination – identifying appropriate trade show opportunities and co-ordinating participation by Redland businesses.
- Inward Foreign investment – promoting the Redlands, as a premier location for setting up or growing businesses, to Chinese companies.
- Education Partnerships – fostering partnerships among universities, colleges and entrepreneurs.
- Tourism partnerships – identifying opportunities for linkages.
China represents a significant and growing economic development opportunity for the Redlands, highlighting the range of commercial activity available and the importance of building relationships.
By providing this free service to Redland Businesses, Council highlights the importance of Southern China to its economic development strategies and to providing tangible ways for local businesses to expand into the market.
