Council understands the need for many business operators to begin their ventures from home.

It eliminates the cost of many overheads and allows new ideas and companies to gather strength and have more chance of success.
 
Our Town Planning Scheme allows varying categories of business activities to be carried out in the home.

In many instances, the impact of home businesses are slight and don’t need Council approval to exist. 

There are a few situations where Council does need to approve your Home Based Enterprise including:

• when you employ more than one person
• where you are proposing to use an outbuilding (eg. a shed)
