Wellington Point
For more than a century, Wellington Point has been a holiday destination for visitors from near and far.
Old postcards show visitors camping at Wellington Point to enjoy the sun, sand and water.
Today, just as many visitors flock to the Point to enjoy – well, the sun, sand and water!
The boat ramp is a favourite with boaties and on a day when a breeze is blowing, the waters off the Point are alive with the vibrant colours of windsurfers’ and kitesurfers’ sails. Views across the Bay to Wynnum and over to Straddie are breathtaking.
The foreshore park is a child’s delight with the playground equipment only slightly less popular than the spectacular aerial roots of the century old figs – perfect for climbing!
King Island is a tiny conservation area attached to Wellington Point by a sand spit and people often walk out to the island at low tide – a must for adventurers of all ages.
The Wellington Point village is a great place to stop for a cold beer or coffee and relax in the pleasant surrounds. Cafes, restaurants and clubs offer a wide range of dining choices.
