Cylinder Beach is a very popular beach and draws large crowds on weekends and holidays. It’s sheltered and patrolled by lifesavers at peak times of year.
Cylinder is known for its calm inshore area for young swimmers and for its point break off the headland for keen surfers, body surfers and boogey boarders.
Cylinder headland is a popular vantage spot for checking out the surf, spotting dolphin and passing humpback whales (from June to October).
