Beaches

There’s a beach for you in the Redlands.

From the calm waters of Moreton Bay to the freshwater lakes and white sand surf beaches of Straddie, it’s all here.

Day visitors to the mainland can swim and relax at Thompson's Beach, Victoria Point, Wellington Point Reserve, or the Raby Bay foreshore parks and beaches.

A quick 10 minute ride to Coochiemudlo Island takes you to Norfolk Beach, a great place for swimming.

On the far side of the Bay, North Stradbroke Island has some of the best surf beaches in the world. Depending on the prevailing wind, there’s almost always a sheltered beach out of the wind and almost always a beach or two with a wave to ride.

Visitors should swim on patrolled beaches as strong currents or rips can develop in different places at different times, making conditions unpredictable. Beach safety advice is available from the Visitor Information Centre in Cleveland or by calling 1300 667 387.
