Lamb Island

Lamb Island was known by the Aboriginal people of Moreton Bay as Ngudooroo, or paperbark trees.

Second smallest of the southern bay islands, Lamb is easily navigable and has a fenced swimming enclosure on a sandy beach for cooling off in the bay water. Swimming is better at high tide.

Measuring two kms by one km, it’s an easy walk around the island, with plenty of spots for casting in a line – and there are plenty of fish.

Bring a picnic or grab some supplies from the local shop, or drop in at the bowls club for a drink.

A walk along the foreshore will bring you to a small rainforest area, as peaceful as it is gets.

Boaties make use of the deep water Canaipa Passage which flows between Lamb and Straddie to the Gold Coast.

For fishing, swimming or just exploring, why not take a short trip to Lamb for a relaxed day in the sun.
