Wildlife of interest
Koalas, forest birds and a wide range of insect-eating birds like varied trillers, spangled drongos, mangrove gerygones and pipits among the she-oaks.
Plants of interest
Salt tolerant plants such as salt-water couch, Sporobolus virginicus and samphires make attractive meadows of green, pink and purple hues. Swamp she-oak Casuarina glauca supports a wide range of insect-eating birds. Large Eucalyptus tereticornis - the Queensland blue gum are a favourite food tree for koalas.
