St Andrew's Church
St Andrew’s was part of Captain Hope’s Ormiston sugar plantation. It was built about 1868 as a private chapel for Captain Hope, his family and staff.
By 1881, regular services were being conducted by Rev Robert Creyke. The Rev and Mrs Creyke lived next door to St Andrew’s in a house called The Priory from about 1881 until he died in 1889.
The Priory was pulled down during World War I and the materials were used for a new house, also called The Priory, built closer to the bay.
