Saturday Indulgence
Escape the rigours of a hectic work routine by indulging the mind, body and spirit for a day. How does some pampering, good food and wine sound to you?
Start your Saturday with a visit to a spa. We have just the place to recommend: the
Harbour Day Spa and Salon at Raby Bay Harbour. You can enjoy a Thai-style relaxation massage or go to their hair salon.
You might be tempted to have a late brekky on the bayside terrace there. With more than 15 outlets, there's plenty of places along the boardwalk where you can sit back and enjoy a coffee while people watching.
With body cared for, it's time to head for the hills!
Drop by
Redlands IndigiScapes Centre at Capalaba to learn more about our local fauna and flora. Explore the gardens and talk to friendly wildlife officers.
Just 15 minutes south is Mount Cotton, a scenic rural community where the
Sirromet winery sits amid lush farming country. This is Queensland’s largest wine producer and home to the multi award-winning restaurant
Lurleen’s. Sirromet was voted top Tourist Attraction in the 2006 Redlands Tourism Awards.
You can taste a range of Sirromet wines at The Cellar Door (open 10am to 4.30pm daily). There is usually live music between 1pm to 4pm on weekends. Winery tours are also available.
With your designated driver behind the wheel, wend your way along Mount View Road which will lead you to the very best panorama at the top of Redland and Moreton Bay.
Wander through hectares of exotic tropical plants, 100-year-old mango trees, a grove of hoop pines, past running water and stop to purchase specimen plants for your own garden.
Drive down the hill back towards Mount Cotton Road and drop by the herb garden and café for a pot of lavender or rosemary tea. Browse through the wide range of regional products, handcrafts, dried flowers and cottage arts.
End the day with Devonshire tea (with famous lavender scones) in the charming outdoor setting of this tranquil family farm.
