Mainland exploring

Bed and breakfast accommodation, motels, holiday units and cottages are a great mainland base for visitors.
The avid cyclist, history buff, nature-based tourist or art lover can take a short break in the Redlands with a range of mainland activities available.

Cyclists

Start at the first stage of the Eddie Santagiuliana Way, that will eventually extend right along the foreshore from Toondah Harbour to Redland Bay. The first section winds through Henry Ziegenfusz Park and a section of wetlands reserve before ending at Beach Street, Cleveland. Join dozens of other Brisbane cyclists at a Wellington Point café break early on Sunday mornings as they explore the area.

Nature lovers

IndigiScapes Centre (Runnymede Road, Capalaba) is a must. Wander through this natural bushland attraction, with its demonstration gardens and abundant flora. Visit the IndigiScapes Tea Garden, set on a timber deck, looking out into the eucalypt bush.
Add Eprapah, Point Halloran and Venman Bushland or if you have a kayak, Hilliards Creek, for quality time with local fauna.
Garden lovers should explore the plethora of retail nurseries and specialist garden suppliers in the area. Make sure you leave room in the car for purchases you’re sure to make to enhance the style of your garden.

Heritage

Visit the Redlands on Moreton Bay Visitor Information Centre for a copy of the Heritage Trail Guides. The guides are being progressively developed over 2005 – 2006. For information on opening hours for the museum, Ormiston House and other must-see historical sights of the area contact the Visitor Information Centre.

Art

Referenced art walks in Cleveland and Capalaba are a delightful way to spend an hour or two.
Pick your trail guide from the Redland Art Gallery in Middle Street, Cleveland. Volunteer staff will tell you about the other galleries to visit in the area.
