School Age Care
About Us
Redland City Council provides 19 School Age Care services which are located on school premises. All children from prep age to grade 7 are welcome to enter School Age Care.
Our services aim to enhance the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of the child by providing opportunities for decision making. We have a deep commitment to maintaining family bonds and structure, and provide elements of the home in our care.
The National Child Care Council (NCAC) administers Quality Assurance in School Age Care and monitors how we operate our services with the children, parents and the community. It also ensures that we have a continuous improvement cycle on all of our activities from programming and planning, to health and nutrition and well being of our clients.
We have received the highest ratings of 'High Quality' when we were required to only meet a 'Satisfactory' rating for the first three years of being assessed.
Licensing of the School Age Care services from the Department of Communities monitors our services for WH&S issues, staff/child ratios, reporting of children's illness and injuries, staff qualifcations, criminal history checks, first aid qualifications and child care qualifications to name a few.
