Redland libraries
Redland library offers you a friendly welcome and access to a world of information and entertainment.
More than half the city's residents are registered members. It is easy to sign up for membership - you can register online or visit any island or mainland library. Identification is required (valid driver's licence with current address or two other forms of identification with a current address).
The library owns collections of printed materials (books and magazines) for all age groups as well as materials in languages other than English, community literacy materials, music CDs, videos, DVDs and specialist collections for people with visual impairments. We also offer a range of services and activities:
- Internet access and tutorials
- craft activities for young people
- book clubs
- author talks
- book launches
- Living Books
- health and wellness talks
Mainland library branches are at Cleveland, Capalaba and Victoria Point. A mobile library service stops at 11 locations on the mainland. Smaller island library branches operate at Dunwich, Point Lookout and Amity Point on North Stradbroke Island, and on Russell Island. There is a small community library staffed by volunteers on Macleay Island.
