1: Where are the Caravan Parks and Tent sites in the Redlands?
There are two caravan parks on the mainland, the Redlands Mobile Village and the Thorneside Mobile Home Park. Both have cabins and campervan sites as well as tent sites. The Redlands Mobile Village is located on Collingwood Rd Birkdale. Thorneside Mobile Home Park is located on Mond St, Thorneside.
2: Why are there no Caravan Parks near the water in the Redlands?
No suitable land is available on the foreshore and land value is very high in this area.
3: Where are the best beaches to swim in the Redlands?
Main Street, Wellington Point
West Beach, Masthead Dr, Raby Bay
Yeo Park, Thompson St Beach
G.J Walter Park, Off Shore St East
4: Where are the markets?
Cleveland Art & Craft Markets are held every Sunday in Bloomfield St. Cleveland and there are also markets held at Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island.
5: Where is the new police station/ courthouse?
At the very end of Middle Street as you leave Cleveland inbound to the city.

7: Do I have to book to camp on North Stradbroke Island?
Yes, you will need a camping permit to camp. They can only be booked via Straddie Holiday Parks on 1300 551 253
8: What about on the beach, do I have to book and pay to camp?
Yes, you will have to book and pay for a permit to camp on the foreshore. They can be also be booked via Straddie Holiday Parks on 1300 551 253. Beach Permits cost $44 for one year.
9: How much does it cost to take a car to North Stradbroke Island and do I need to book?
It costs approximately $135.00 return to take a car across including the legal number of occupants the vehicle can seat . Yes, bookings are essential for all services with Big Red Cat or Stradbroke Ferries.
10: How much does a 4WD permit cost?
There is only one type of permit available this is an annual permit at a cost of $34.00
11: What areas can I take my dog camping on North Stradbroke Island?
Dogs are allowed only if you are camping on the foreshore, but are not allowed in any of the camping grounds. They must be on a leash when traveling by barge or water taxi.
12: How do I get to the Bay Islands. Can I do a round trip of the islands?
There are water taxi’s available as well as vehicle barges that go over to the Bay Islands. There are no round trips available, but water taxis will pick up and drop off at all of the smaller Islands during the day.
